Course Description

All courses are currently provisional, subject to council and government permits being obtained.

The 10K is run over a single lap in an anti-clockwise direction (see map below).  Please note that the course STARTS ON MAIN ROAD AT THE FRONT OF RICHARD HAMILTON WINES (approximately 800m from the finish line) so that the run is an accurate 10K.

Runners will start by heading along Main Road towards Willunga before joining the Shiraz Trail to Binney Road.  Runners will run the length of Strout Road before turning left on to McMurtrie Road.  Runners will rejoin the Shiraz Trail to Rifle Range Road, then Main Road back to Richard Hamilton Wines.

The 10K course has total elevation change of approximately 50m.

Drink Stations

A drink station with water and a portable toilet will be located on Binney Road at approximately 4 km. Only compostable cups will be used at this event.  Runners may carry their own sports drinks/gels. Rubbish must be deposited in the bins provided at the drink stations. Littering on course will result in disqualification.

Course Cut-Off

The 10K course will be progressively closed at a pace of 12 minutes per kilometre (equivalent to a finish time of 2 hours).

A tail runner will follow the last runner around the course for safety reasons and to relieve marshals from their positions.

Marshals

Please be courteous to our course marshals and other event team members. Remember that they are giving up their time to make sure that you can enjoy your run.

ALWAYS FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN BY COURSE MARSHALS.

All Traffic Guidance Schemes have full approval from the necessary authorities and roads are managed by accredited traffic controllers from Workzone Traffic Control Pty Ltd for the duration of the event.

Presentations

Presentations for the first 3 male and first 3 female place-getters will take place at Richard Hamilton Wines on Sunday morning (time TBC).  Award winners must be in attendance to receive prizes.
